In the early morning hours of a summer Sunday in Washington, D.C., the life of 22-year-old Jarrell Haney was tragically cut short. On June 7, 2009, at approximately 3:53 a.m., Haney, an African-American male, was shot and killed in the 2000 block of 16th Street, NE. The quiet of the night was shattered by the violence that left a young man dead and a community searching for answers.
