On June 12, 2005, Pieter N. Shapar was stabbed during an attempted vehicle break-in in the 4300 block of Martin Luther King Avenue, SW, in Washington, D.C. The incident occurred around 8:00 PM when three individuals were reportedly breaking into Shapar’s car. When Shapar approached, the three suspects attacked him, inflicting severe injuries before fleeing the scene.
