Arriving at the scene, officers discovered 46-year-old Wendell Youngblood of Baltimore suffering from gunshot wounds.
He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
An investigation led to the arrest of 23-year-old Michael 'Miesha' Hines, a transgender woman. Hines was charged with second-degree murder while armed for the shooting death of Youngblood. According to court documents and witness testimony, the shooting followed a physical altercation where Youngblood was knocked to the ground by several men. Surveillance footage captured a figure, later identified as Hines, drawing a gun and firing at Youngblood.
During legal proceedings, it was revealed that witnesses heard someone encourage the shooter to fire again after the initial shots. The shooter then returned and fired a fatal shot.
