In the autumn of 2023, a young man's life was tragically cut short on the streets of Northeast Washington, D.C. Twenty-one-year-old Carlos Haythe, a male resident of the area, was fatally shot in the Brentwood neighborhood on the afternoon of Thursday, October 12th. The incident occurred around 1:34 p.m. at the intersection of 14th and Downing Street, Northeast, where officers responded to reports of gunfire.
Upon their arrival, police discovered Haythe suffering from gunshot wounds.
He was quickly transported to a local hospital in an effort to save his life, but his injuries proved to be too severe, and he was pronounced dead. The Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch is actively investigating the shooting.
