On the evening of Friday, May 31, 2024, a burst of gunfire shattered the peace in the 1600 block of W Street, Southeast, Washington, D.C. When officers from the Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the scene at approximately 6:01 p.m., they discovered a grim tableau. Three adults had been struck by bullets.
