In the late afternoon of July 19, 2022, violence shattered the calm of a Southeast Washington, D.C. neighborhood. It was on the 400 block of Burbank Street, SE, that William Whittington Jr., a 40-year-old male from Southeast, DC, was found suffering from a gunshot wound. Police responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 4:13 p.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mr. Whittington, who was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy later confirmed that he died from a single gunshot wound ...
