On the evening of November 5, 2021, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of a Northeast Washington, D.C. neighborhood. When officers from the Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the 100 block of Taussig Place, Northeast, at approximately 9:00 PM, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as 32-year-old Antwonne Turner, a Black male from Fort Washington, Maryland.
Despite the immediate response from DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services, Turner
showed no signs of life and was pronounced dead at the scene. His death was ruled a homicide, prompting an intensive investigation by the MPD's Homicide Branch. The authorities have been actively seeking information from the public to help piece together the events that led to Turner's death.
In an effort to generate leads, the department has offered a substantial reward of up to $25,000 for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this crime. To date, no detailed descriptions or names of any suspects have been released to the public. The investigation into Antwonne Turner's murder remains ongoing as his family and community await answers and seek justice.
