In the early hours of September 3, 2024, at approximately 12:03 a.m., deputies from the Jurupa Valley Sheriff's Station responded to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 2900 block of Rubidoux Boulevard, Jurupa Valley, California. Upon arrival, they discovered 37-year-old Avelino Recardo "Rasko" Sanchez suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Deputies immediately administered life-saving measures until paramedics arrived. Sanchez was then transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The Riverside County Sheriff's Central Homicide Unit promptly took over the investigation. Despite thorough efforts, authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or established a clear motive for the shooting.
