In a tragic turn of events that has deeply affected a local family, 38-year-old Gary Roberson, a male resident of Washington, D.C., was fatally shot on the evening of Saturday, June 1, 2024. The incident occurred around 8:33 p.m. in the 700 block of Atlantic Street in Southeast D.C., a neighborhood that has now been marked by this act of violence.
According to reports from the Metropolitan Police Department, officers were dispatched to the location after receiving calls about a shooting.
Upon their arrival, they discovered Mr. Roberson unconscious and not breathing, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the immediate response from emergency medical personnel, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
