In the early hours of a Saturday in Washington, D.C., the life of Marcus Troy Alston, a 27-year-old Black/African American male, was tragically cut short. On March 14, 2015, at approximately 12:18 a.m., gunshots rang out in an apartment located in the 2700 block of Langston Place in Southeast D.C. When Metropolitan Police Department officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Alston suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
