In the late summer afternoon of Wednesday, August 28, 2024, a grim discovery was made in the 3200 block of 9th Street in Northeast, Washington, D.C. At approximately 3:15 p.m., officers from the Metropolitan Police Department responded to a call and found an unconscious adult male on the street. The man, later identified as 32-year-old Ronald Williams of Northeast, DC, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Initially, the cause of his death was not immediately apparent, and his body was
transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy. The subsequent examination revealed that Mr. Williams had sustained a gunshot wound, and his death was officially ruled a homicide. The investigation into his murder is being handled by the Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch.
As of now, authorities have not publicly identified any suspects in connection with the fatal shooting. The motive behind the killing also remains unknown. The Metropolitan Police Department has appealed to the public for assistance, urging anyone with information regarding the death of Ronald Williams to come forward.
