On October 8, 2021, Giovanni Lovelace, a 23-year-old resident of Northeast Washington, D.C., was tragically killed in a quadruple shooting in the Hill East neighborhood. The incident occurred around 8:14 p.m. in the 1700 block of Independence Avenue, Southeast. Lovelace was one of four men shot during the event.
