In the early morning hours of June 14, 2018, the life of 23-year-old Dontae Mitchell was tragically cut short in the Washington Highlands neighborhood of Southeast Washington, D.C. At approximately 1:37 a.m., officers responded to the 1000 block of Southern Avenue SE, where they found Mitchell suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was a resident of Southeast D.C.
