In the early morning hours of Memorial Day, a day often marked by remembrance and reflection, violence shattered the quiet of a Washington, D.C. neighborhood. On May 30, 2011, at approximately 3:55 a.m., officers from the Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in the 1400 block of Morse Street, Northeast. Upon arrival, they discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds.
