On January 11, 2020, Tavon Cox, a 41-year-old resident of Baltimore, Maryland, was fatally shot in Washington, D.C. The incident occurred in the 700 block of 24th Street, Northeast, at approximately 8:03 PM. Upon arrival, officers from the Fifth District of the Metropolitan Police Department found Cox inside a vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
