In the evening hours of a Sunday in Washington, D.C., the life of Andre Ricardo Harris, a 24-year-old male, was tragically cut short. On October 22, 2017, at approximately 8:40 p.m., gunfire erupted in the 1900 block of Savannah Terrace SE, near the Congress Heights neighborhood. When police arrived at the scene, they found Harris suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a local hospital in a desperate attempt to save his life, but tragically, all life-saving efforts failed, and he was pronounced dead.
The shooting that claimed Harris's life also left another man wounded. This second victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and survived the attack. The violent incident left its mark on the quiet residential street, with police reports indicating that two vehicles were struck by bullets during the chaos of the shooting.
