On a summer night in Washington, D.C., a burst of violence cut short the life of 20-year-old Alonzo Richard Hines Jr. The Black/African American male was in the 1500 block of 45th Street in the Northeast quadrant of the city on August 14, 2019, when gunfire erupted. Responding to the scene, officers found Hines suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal.
