In the early morning hours of Saturday, August 1, 2015, the life of 22-year-old Michael Toland was tragically cut short. At approximately 3:32 a.m., in the normally quiet intersection of 46th Place and G Street in Southeast Washington, D.C., Toland was shot. He sustained gunshot wounds to his back and leg. After the shooting, Toland arrived at a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he died.
