In the early morning hours of October 5, 2024, a burst of gunfire shattered the peace in the Trinidad neighborhood of Northeast Washington, D.C. When officers from the Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the 1600 block of Trinidad Avenue, NE, around 2:06 a.m., they discovered a chaotic and violent scene. Three individuals had been struck by bullets. Among them was 33-year-old Najee Dickens, a male resident of the District.
