In the Rainier Valley neighborhood of Seattle, on a late winter day, the life of a 29-year-old Black/African American woman named Fariya Fay Yusuf was tragically cut short. On March 4, 2023, what began as a conversation between friends concluded in a hail of gunfire that left Yusuf dead outside her own apartment in the 7100 block of 42nd Avenue South.
