Tiffany Sherman, 18, a Black woman, was shot in the early hours of August 19, 2023, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Officers first responded to Arkansas Children’s Hospital, where they spoke with Sherman as she was treated for an apparent gunshot wound; despite medical efforts, she later died. Homicide detectives traced the crime scene to the 1400 block of Bond Street and began canvassing for witnesses and surveillance video as the Pulaski County Coroner transported her to the state crime lab for
autopsy.
In the days that followed, her family and community advocates pleaded for answers, describing the 18-year-old mother of two as joyful and determined to finish school. Police said the shooting occurred before 2 a.m. near East 14th and Bond Street, and that she was pronounced dead at the hospital. As of August 22, investigators had not identified a suspect and urged anyone with information to come forward.
Investigators later asked the public to help identify a newer-model black Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with temporary tags that may have been connected to the case, releasing an appeal on August 28. There have been no publicly reported arrests in her killing, and detectives continued to seek leads from the community.
