On September 16, 2018, Sonia Ann Gray, aged 35, and her husband, William Gray, were found deceased in their home on Westwood Avenue in Little Rock, Arkansas. Both had suffered apparent gunshot wounds. The discovery was made by their 14-year-old son, who had just returned from church. After finding his parents, the teenager was injured as he left the house and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
William Gray, 37, was a parole officer for the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections and a deacon in his church. His wife, Sonia, was 35 years old at the time of her death. The couple's son was later released to the custody of his aunt, per Department of Human Services.
The Little Rock Police Department conducted interviews with the juvenile and the witness who dropped him off, as well as a neighborhood canvass. The bodies of the Grays were transported to the medical examiner's office for autopsies to determine the exact cause of death. At that time, there was no suspect information available.
