In what was initially reported as a suicide, the death of 19-year-old Teresa Jones of Little Rock, Arkansas, was later determined to be a homicide. On September 14, 2022, police were called to a residence at 2409 Center Street after a 911 caller reported hearing a gunshot and finding a deceased female.
Responding officers found Teresa Jones deceased inside the home. Due to uncertain circumstances at the scene, homicide detectives were called in to investigate further.
The investigation led detectives to reclassify the case from a suicide to a homicide.
Authorities later arrested Jamaal Johnson in connection with the death. He was charged with Murder in the 1st Degree and Possession of a Firearm by a Certain Person. The incident was described as being domestic-related.
