On a late winter evening in Davenport, Iowa, the life of 16-year-old De’Zia L. Bailey, a Black female, was tragically cut short. On March 4, 2024, at approximately 9:52 p.m., the sounds of gunfire shattered the quiet of a residence in the 1800 block of Grand Avenue. First responders arrived at the scene to find the young junior from Mid City High School with a gunshot wound. She was quickly transported to a local hospital, but her injuries proved to be fatal.
