On a summer night in Davenport, Iowa, 15-year-old Ayana Culbreath was at a backyard bonfire on June 26, 2016, when her life was cut short. The gathering, attended by about 20 people in the 4200 block of Warren Street, turned tragic when gunfire erupted shortly after midnight. Ayana was struck by a bullet and rushed to a nearby hospital, but she was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival.
