In February 2020, a domestic dispute in Glendale, Arizona, escalated to a fatal conclusion, ending the life of 55-year-old Timothy Johnson, a Black / African American male. The tragic events unfolded on February 10th when an argument between Johnson and his wife, 39-year-old Shata Johnson, turned violent while they were in a car.
According to Shata Johnson's account to the police, she shot her husband during the argument.
For several days following the shooting, Timothy Johnson's body remained concealed within the vehicle. The situation came to light on February 14th, when Shata Johnson drove to a Phoenix police precinct and confessed to the killing. Glendale police were then dispatched to the couple's home near 59th Avenue and Thunderbird.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered Timothy Johnson's body inside a car parked in the carport. It was determined he had been shot once and had been deceased for several days. Shata Johnson admitted to moving her husband's body to the vehicle in an attempt to hide what had occurred from their neighbors. Following her confession, Shata Johnson was arrested and subsequently booked into jail. She faced charges of murder and concealment of a dead body.
