On December 9, 2019, 50-year-old Scott Isaacson, a White male, was fatally shot at his workplace in Glendale, Arizona. The incident occurred at Integrity Staffing Solutions, where Isaacson had been a respected Area Manager for six years. That morning, a former employee named Julius Grant, 40, entered the business upset over a pay dispute.
Grant proceeded to an office where Isaacson was in a meeting with two other employees.
Without provocation, Grant shot Isaacson multiple times before fleeing the scene. Emergency services were called, and Isaacson was rushed to a local hospital, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. The sudden violence left his colleagues in a state of shock and grief, barricading themselves in their offices until law enforcement secured the area.
Following an intensive search, Glendale police located Grant later that day in his vehicle in west Phoenix. During the attempt to take him into custody, Grant displayed a handgun, prompting at least one officer to fire. Grant was struck and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. After receiving medical treatment, he was arrested and subsequently faced charges of first-degree murder and aggravated assault. Investigators believe Isaacson was not directly responsible for Grant's pay issue.

He had moved to Phoenix just four months prior to the incident with his husband of 15 years and their adopted son. His husband described him as a kind and loving man, and his death was a devastating loss to his family and the community he had quickly become a part of.
