On August 14, 2021, Baseme Mirindi John, a 30-year-old resident of Glendale, Arizona, was fatally shot in a parking lot. The incident occurred near the intersection of 59th and Northern avenues, where John was involved in an argument with another individual, Sammy Mendoza.
