In a Glendale, Arizona neighborhood, a quiet Friday morning was shattered by a fatal act of violence that claimed the life of 30-year-old Michael Cameron Lee. On October 11, 2019, police responded to a call of a shooting near 67th Avenue and Utopia Road. Upon arrival, they discovered Lee's body outside of a residence; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The events leading to the tragedy began to unfold when 36-year-old Michael 'Bubba' William Ingram arrived uninvited at the home.
Witnesses inside the house later told investigators that Ingram, who was known to them, had entered the residence, leading to a physical altercation with Lee. The confrontation moved outside, where Ingram allegedly shot Lee with a handgun before fleeing in his vehicle. Fortunately, others present inside the home were not harmed.
Investigators were able to identify Ingram as the suspect thanks to witness testimony. They knew him by his nickname, 'Bubba,' and provided a description of his silver-colored Dodge Durango. One witness also supplied law enforcement with a last known address for the suspect, which ultimately led to his identification. Later that same day, police located Ingram's vehicle in nearby Peoria, but he was not there.
A few days later, on October 15, authorities tracked Ingram to a residence in Phoenix where he was arrested without incident. He was subsequently booked into jail on charges of second-degree murder and drug possession, with his bond set at $500,000. Records indicated that Ingram had a criminal history, including prior convictions for burglary, robbery, and theft, and had been released from prison just months before the fatal shooting.
