On March 7, 2022, 18-year-old Anthony Covarrubias was found lying on the roadway in Ahwatukee, Phoenix, Arizona, with multiple gunshot wounds. When officers arrived at the scene on East Dry Creek Road, they discovered Covarrubias injured and immediately transported him to a hospital.

Despite medical efforts, Anthony Covarrubias succumbed to his injuries and died at the hospital. His death was a tragic event that left his family and community in grief.
