On December 16, 2022, 27-year-old David Navidad-Parra, a U.S. Army Captain from Phoenix, Arizona, was found dead after a car sale transaction turned deadly. Navidad-Parra had been reported missing earlier that night when he was last seen giving a man a test drive of his vehicle during the car sale. His body was discovered lying on the ground near the intersection of 43rd Avenue and McDowell around 9:15 p.m., and it was determined that he had been shot to death.
