In a tragic turn of events, Malik Brooks, a 24-year-old Black man, was found deceased on April 2, 2023, near Rose Canyon Lake, nestled off the Catalina Highway in Tucson, Arizona. An aspiring rapper hailing from El Paso, Texas, his body displayed evident signs of trauma, leading the Pima County Sheriff's Department to launch a homicide investigation. His death was later attributed to gun violence.
