On October 12, 2023, Joseph Goree Jr., a 37-year-old man, was found dead in north central Phoenix, Arizona. The incident occurred in the area of 9200 North 5th Street, where police were called to respond to a report.

Upon arrival, officers discovered Goree's body in a parking lot, and he was determined to have suffered from an apparent gunshot wound. Despite the immediate response, there were no suspects in sight at the time of the discovery.
