On May 26, 2014, in Camden-Wyoming, Delaware, 84-year-old Charles William "Shortie" Semans was fatally shot by his 17-year-old grandson, John Rash. The incident occurred during an argument between the two at their residence, when Rash retrieved a shotgun and shot Semans in the stomach.
Semans was transported to Christiana Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on May 29, 2014, surrounded by his family. An autopsy confirmed that his death resulted from the gunshot wound.
