On September 28, 2017, at approximately midnight, Wilmington Police responded to reports of an idling vehicle in the parking lot of the Brandywine Hills Apartments, located in the 4300 block of Miller Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered 33-year-old Albert "Kenny" Hazzard Jr. seated in the driver's seat, having suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head. The vehicle had coasted into another parked car, and Hazzard was pronounced dead at the scene.
