A 20-year-old Black male from Wilmington named Kai'Mel Shyhee Devine Ennals was fatally shot on September 2, 2017. He was struck in the upper torso in a lunchtime shooting and was transported to Christiana Hospital in critical condition, where he later died.
On that day at about 1:17 pm, Wilmington Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert for gunfire in the 800 block of North Adams Street. They found Kai'Mel suffering from the gunshot wound. Emergency responders provided treatment on scene
