On July 14, 2017, at approximately 11:26 p.m., Wilmington police responded to a ShotSpotter alert indicating gunfire in the 1200 block of West 3rd Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 22-year-old Cyree W. Watson suffering from gunshot wounds to his face and torso. Officers administered immediate medical aid until New Castle County paramedics arrived and transported Watson to Christiana Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
