On January 12, 2015, 20-year-old Lahmeer Carter was fatally shot in Bear, Delaware, in a violent act that left the community in shock. Carter, a resident of Bear, was reportedly shot in a residential area near the 300 block of Prospect Parkway. Law enforcement agencies responded quickly to the scene after receiving reports of gunfire, and upon arrival, they discovered Carter suffering from gunshot wounds.
