On a Monday afternoon, the 16th of February, 2015, the sounds of life at the Rose Hill Community Center in New Castle, Delaware, were tragically interrupted by a single gunshot. Inside the center, a place that typically buzzed with activities for all ages, 31-year-old Jamar Kilgoe, a Black/African American male, was fatally wounded. The incident occurred at approximately 3:00 p.m. in a recording studio on the lower level of the facility located at 19 Lambson Lane.
