On the evening of April 25, 2016, 25-year-old African American male Tymeer Bailey was fatally shot in a park near New Castle, Delaware. The incident occurred in the Surratte County Parkland, located near Robinson Drive and Bethune Drive in the Dunleith community. Around 8:26 p.m., multiple 911 calls reported gunfire and people fleeing the area. When officers arrived, they found the young man lying motionless with an apparent gunshot wound to his upper body.
