On the evening of April 25, 2016, 25-year-old African American male Tymeer Bailey was fatally shot in a park near New Castle, Delaware. The incident occurred in the Surratte County Parkland, located near Robinson Drive and Bethune Drive in the Dunleith community. Around 8:26 p.m., multiple 911 calls reported gunfire and people fleeing the area. When officers arrived, they found the young man lying motionless with an apparent gunshot wound to his upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
