Megan Ripley, an 18-year-old from Paris, Maine, was tragically shot and killed on December 7, 2006, by a hunter who mistook her for a deer. The hunter, Timothy Bean, was using a muzzleloader at the time of the incident. He pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to two years in prison, with all but 30 days suspended.
