On January 1, 2019, 31-year-old Heather Lynn Bickford was found fatally shot alongside her boyfriend, Dana Hill, in his South Paris, Maine, apartment. The couple's bodies were discovered by police after Mark Penley, Bickford's ex-boyfriend, called 911 to report the deaths. Officers arrived to find Penley holding Bickford's infant child, with her 8-year-old child also present in the apartment.
