On April 1, 1998, in South Paris, Maine, 23-year-old Sara Raymond was fatally shot by her husband, James Raymond, aged 36, in a tragic incident of domestic violence. After killing his wife, James Raymond contacted the Oxford County Sheriff's Office to report the shooting. When law enforcement arrived at the scene, they found that James had attempted suicide by shooting himself in the head.
