In the winter of 2017, the city of Portland, Maine, recorded its first homicide of the year with the death of 35-year-old Bryan "Kage" Garcia. On the afternoon of February 27, 2017, Garcia was discovered deceased in the driver's seat of his car parked on Chadwick Street. An investigation swiftly determined that Garcia was the victim of a homicide, having been shot.
