In the early evening of October 28, 2024, the life of 31-year-old Edgar Ismael Cando, a male resident of Portland, Maine, was tragically cut short. At approximately 5:29 p.m., Portland police were dispatched to the vicinity of Portland and Alder Streets following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Cando suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to Maine Medical Center, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
