On June 24, 1997, in Portland, Maine, a confrontation occurred between bar owner Sabato Raia and three men: Dana Matthews, 24; Nicholas Patenaude; and Kevin Pinette. The altercation escalated, resulting in Raia fatally shooting all three men outside his apartment. Each victim sustained gunshot wounds to the head.
