On December 26, 2021, 50-year-old Jason "Cowboy" Aubuchon of Eastport, Maine, was fatally shot at a residence on Tranquility Lane in Perry. Emergency responders transported him to Calais Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit initiated an investigation, and an autopsy confirmed that Aubuchon died from a gunshot wound to the head, ruling his death a homicide.
