On May 17, 2004, 60-year-old Julius Petrovic of Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, was fatally shot in the parking lot of the Yarmouth Information Center off Interstate 295 in Yarmouth, Maine. Petrovic, who had worked for over a decade as the maitre d’ at Spruce Point Inn in Boothbay Harbor, was seated in his parked SUV when he was approached and shot in the chest through the window during an attempted robbery.
