In the early evening hours of June 4, 1995, in Little Rock, Arkansas, 17-year-old Marcell Young was at home with his younger half-siblings, Malak Hussian, 10, and Mustafa Hussian, 12. Their lives were tragically cut short when a group of individuals, fueled by a desire for revenge, forced their way into the family's residence. The intruders were led by Riley Dobi Noel, who mistakenly believed that one of the children's older sisters was involved in the recent gang-related death of his
brother.
Inside the house, Noel, along with his accomplices Terry Carroll, Curtis Cochran, and Tracy Calloway, terrorized the family. Marcell and his two younger siblings were forced to lie on the floor. In a brutal act of retaliatory violence, Noel shot each of the three defenseless children in the head. While the horrific events unfolded in one part of the house, the children's mother, Mary Hussian, fought for her life in another room, managing to wrestle a shotgun away from one of the attackers. Miraculously, she survived the ordeal. Marcell's fiancée, who was also present at the house, managed to escape by climbing through a window.
The investigation into the triple homicide quickly led law enforcement to the perpetrators. Riley Dobi Noel was arrested and charged with three counts of capital murder and one count of attempted capital murder. He was subsequently convicted and sentenced to death. On July 9, 2003, Noel was executed by lethal injection. His accomplices also faced justice for their roles in the heinous crime. Terry Carroll was convicted of capital murder and received a life sentence, which was later reduced to 70 years because he was a juvenile at the time of the murders. Tracy Calloway was convicted of three counts of first-degree murder and sentenced to 132 years in prison. Curtis Cochran, in exchange for his testimony against the others, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and received a 20-year sentence.
