On October 25, 2023, 76-year-old Robert "Bob" Violette and his wife, Lucille, were among the victims of a mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine. The tragedy unfolded at Just-In-Time Recreation, a local bowling alley where Bob, a retired Sears mechanic and avid bowler, was present during a youth league event. Both Bob and Lucille lost their lives in the attack, which claimed a total of 18 lives and left 13 others injured.
